Lost Jewels

Woe to us,
To have lost the night.
Jewels blazing in shattered
The window to ferocious creation
Purple fires and emerald worlds,
Red and gold ghosts of galaxies
Long since dead.
We’ve traded them all for light bulbs
And screens.
Looking at the ground for what we lost in the sky.

  1. Given that you’ve probably thought about writing a book. Well, you ought to do it. And if you haven’t, however unlikely – well, you ought to have at least thought about it.

Your writing style is gripping and poignant. MashaAllah.
